Summary
Google Goto URL Fix processes Google Search result links locally in your browser so it can replace affected Google redirect links with usable destination links. The extension does not collect telemetry, track users, create user profiles, or send browsing data to us or to any server controlled by us.
Information processed locally
To perform its single purpose, the extension reads the content and URLs of links displayed on Google Search result pages. This information may reflect your search activity and is therefore treated as browsing data.
The extension uses this information only to identify affected links and resolve or replace them in your browser. This processing occurs locally on your device. We do not receive, collect, or retain this information.
Information we do not collect through the extension
The extension does not collect or transmit to us:
- Search queries or search history
- Browsing history or visited URLs
- Page content
- Names, email addresses, or other identifiers
- Authentication, financial, health, or location information
- Usage analytics, telemetry, advertising identifiers, or crash reports
The extension does not use cookies, provide user accounts, display advertising, or build user profiles.
Network activity and third-party services
The extension does not transmit data to us or to any developer-controlled server. Your use of Google Search and any website you visit remains a direct interaction between your browser and those services. Google and destination websites may receive ordinary browser requests and handle information under their own privacy policies. We do not control their practices.
Website analytics
This website uses Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand aggregate website usage. This is separate from the extension and does not change the extension's local data handling.
According to Ahrefs, its Web Analytics service does not use cookies or persistent identifiers by default. It processes page URLs, referrers, user-agent and language information, and approximate country and city. Ahrefs says raw IP addresses are discarded rather than stored and are used with a daily rotating salt to calculate daily unique-visitor counts. The service may also record outbound link clicks, including extension-download clicks.

Sharing and sale of information
We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose extension user data because we do not collect it. Aggregate website usage information is processed by Ahrefs as described above.
Browser permissions
The extension requests access only as needed to operate on Google Search result pages and perform its disclosed link-fixing function. It does not use its permissions for advertising, profiling, market research, or any unrelated purpose.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
Google Goto URL Fix's use of information received from Chrome APIs and Google Search pages complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information processed by the extension is used only to provide its user-facing link-fixing feature.
Support communications
If you choose to email us, we receive the email address, message, and other information you voluntarily provide. We use that information only to respond to your request, address security or support issues, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell it. We retain support communications only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
Data retention and deletion
Because we do not collect extension activity or browsing data, we do not retain it and there is nothing for us to delete. You can stop all local processing by disabling or uninstalling the extension through your browser.
Children's privacy
The extension is a general-purpose browser utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the extension.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the extension's functionality or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how user data is handled, we will provide any additional notice or consent required by law or Chrome Web Store policy.
